On Thanksgiving...
Nov. 26th, 2009 07:19 pmWe don't have an equivalent holiday to Thanksgiving over here, but I still take time during the day to remember the things I am thankful for each year. I'm not the most positive person on this Earth, so it helps me to remind myself things aint so bad.

Okay, I'm a bit up and down right now. After several days of quite crushing depression, yesterday afternoon offered some hope in the form of some local temp work which would keep me going for about 5 weeks. Hopefully, in that time, I can prove what a Useful and Acceptable person I am and they get me some more work... I can only hope. But I haven't had the e-mail confirming yet, so I'm not holding my breath. I'm sure you can understand my cynicism.
And so many touching messages - I'm blurring up just thinking about them - I thank you all for your e-mails and comments of support. I'd make some comment about being unworthy, but I suspect you'd all shoot me down in the nicest possible way. But I feel very honored and humbled to have such good friends, even if I've never met some of them in the flesh.

Blind Vision...
Feb. 16th, 2007 10:01 amThere is an image that haunts me. I am falling, rolling at constant speed, down a wide, circular marble staircase. As I fall, all step back but look on with horror; paralysed and unable to help. It's just an image.
People are helping in their own sweet way and I am grateful. Grateful for support; grateful for the valentine messages on valentinr. Bear with me - I am trying to weather the storm and I am hoping that once I move; close the door on Gosport and open a door somewhere else that I will accept the positive step that it is. Yes, I will rant, rail and howl from time to time. It's cathartic and I need to do it. I am not going to bottle it up as that way leads to more serious mental damage. rock_bear, does not deserve half the crap I throw at him, especially at the moment.
I am still damaged goods. But I am repairing.

Nov. 23rd, 2006 02:28 pmSo, I am sat at my 'puter in Richard and Merlin's house in Alabama, wearing Carhartts and slippers nicked from a Hilton hotel. Flight over here smooth apart from both items on the Coach class menu having Parmesan in them (which makes me re-enact scenes from "The Exorcist") and ending up with a very nice bowl of beef and barley stew from Business class. Being an awkward sod does pay off sometimes. Slept the sleep of the dead last nigh after watching "Super Sucker" on DVD. I guess, since I'm over here, I should wish you all...
