The Wanderer Returns...
Nov. 29th, 2010 04:50 pmWell, actually, I was back on the 26th. after a fairly uneventful journey in the care of KLM, to be greeted by an ecstatic best beloved, who had the foresight to pick up groceries on the way. He's too good for me, you know. Not that I am complaining, of course!!!
Quick round-up of what happened:
Many thanks and hugs to

Stuff And Nonsense...
Dec. 18th, 2009 06:54 pmTo quickly re-cap - Edinburgh trip went well; visited koalas; made a new friend completely by accident. Which was nice. Work goes on as always; the usual mix of clients from the ones who just sit and say nothing to the vociferous ones who over run by ten minutes...!
And now to the holidays - Spending Xmess in Crawley with
karendunn and family and friends. Dearly Beloved Aged Parent is not too far away in the depths of East Sussex with his sister and long term partner. New Year sees me heading to the Valleys and also to Cardiff to see the old one out/new one in...
Secret Santa present from work? A book of food porn by Gordon "F*cking" Ramsey. I will probably never cook any of the recipes in it but I will admire the unadulterated food porn within.

Chiquitita, Tell Me What's Wrong...
May. 14th, 2009 07:07 pmThose who know me well, know that underneath the bearish exterior, the inner koala just wants to be loved and hugged. And so it is this evening as I eat a bowl of Apple Pie and Ice Cream. And sniffing back the tears. And wanting me mam.
It's OK; I have just had a crappy day at work and am not sleeping properly for reasons that I cannot fathom and probably should have a chat with the doctor about.

Releasing My Inner Koala...
May. 3rd, 2009 09:00 amI was in a cafe/bar in Wolverhampton yesterday, sat at my table. Waiting for someone to come over and take my order. And waiting. And waiting. And getting crankier. Until I realised that you had to order at the bar...
Then I found this cartoon. Is it me, or is my nose starting to resemble half a black olive...?

Angry Koalas Tend To Bite...
Jul. 23rd, 2008 07:03 pmDear Jobseeker,
When coming into the Jobcentre, please do not kvetch to your new signing clerk at least three times about a mistake you think was caused by your previous clerk, which the evidence proves is not the case. You only have yourself to blame when said clerk leans over and very firmly corrects you on this point.
Remember, I only look cute and cuddly.
Lots of love,
Steve xxx

Going To The Zoo...
Jan. 23rd, 2008 03:59 pmMet
beastbriskett in the Castro after taking a cable car ride down California St. After pizza, we drove up to Twin Peaks in Pugsley PT to admire the view. I begin to understand why so many people, including Dear Darling Little Sister, like San Francisco. The Castro was as only the Castro can be; it fulfills its purpose as center of the gayverse. Then we headed to the zoo; the one koala on display resolutely asleep, with the occasional contemptuous flick of her ear. So we wandered around looking at kangaroos, polar bears, black bears, giraffes, zebras and monkeys that had been using product, judging by their spiked up hair...
After that, we headed up the Great Highway to Seals Rock and more great views. Alas, I can't upload to my PC at the moment as I forgot the cable to connect my PC to my camera. And so back to Western Highlands for cocktail and burgers with Hoody...

It Really Hasn't Been All Crap Lately...
Sep. 21st, 2007 06:19 pm...last week, I was able to take another koala hunt up to Edinburgh and spend some time hanging around with
colicub at last.
It was good to do a little exploring of somewhere else; I've been a bit stuck inside at times, with a bit of a "why bother" feeling. However, the weekend before last, I was wandering around Nottingham and feeling a little more creative. Wanting to share some of the images and places I haunt in the city. However, I was not carrying my camera so I guess I will have to remember to pick it up next time I go for a wander.
Meanwhile, back to the marsupials... one of them seemed to be asleep most of the time, performing the marsupial equivalent of sleeping in his cornflakes...

The other just seemed to be bored out of his tiny mind...

But it was good to spend a weekend with koalas, cubs and pizza...

Up The Down Escalator...
Apr. 19th, 2007 10:05 amLast night was Hairy Bikers night at the local bookstore. They did a good hour-long chat to the audience of about a hundred, then, despite the usual "we could talk all night", they were ushered out to the obligatory signing. And as always, they were genuinely pleased to see everybody, which meant that queuing took a while, especially as I was at the end of the queue. As I approached Dave, there was a cry of "Aha! The famous koala!" I was quite touched that they seemed genuinely concerned about my redundancy; to prove my new found fame, my copy of the latest book was signed thus:-

With a parting hope to "see you next year", I headed off down the escalator, then realised that I had not had the obligatory photograph. So, since I had never done it before, much to the amusement of the Hairies and the horror of the bookstore staff, I ran up the down escalator. Which explains why I am a little red in this picture...

Here's to more cookin' and bikin' and travellin'!!!
