Just been flicking through my copy of "What The Bleep - Further Down The Rabbit Hole".  I don't even begin to pretend to understand the physics behind it; it's more the message that seems to filter down through my conciousness.  And remembering [personal profile] elric_dewisant and the Baghdad Theatre.
Addendum 9/1/2006 06:51 Dreamt about staying in the Holiday Inn Express last night, with my mother in the entourage...

Moo...

The one thing I must never lose sight of is the number of people who love me.

My DVD copy of "What The Bleep Do We Know?" arrived today. And I was taken back... to the Bagdad Theater, to the Max, to the City of Roses, to Goose Hollow...
hantsbear: (Renaissance koala...!)

Belated birthday greetings and smooches, [livejournal.com profile] longhairelric !

Moo.

And So...

Back to reality.

Via Portland OR, the Columbia River Valley (and a whole lot of gorgeous waterfalls - hmm, there may be a pun in there somehere,) Maryhill Museum and a replica of Stonehenge...

Taking in The Puppetry of the Penis; What the (bleep) Do We Know and Jersey Girl...

Tried unsuccessfully to call [livejournal.com profile] albadger and managed to successfully call [livejournal.com profile] denbear and [livejournal.com profile] benpanced.

And ate our way through most of the Asian sub-continent.

Oh, and got another Business Class upgrade. (Ducks tirade of abuse from [livejournal.com profile] longhairelric...)

Okay, just a quickie - sat here in PSU trying to use an american keyboard and failing miserably! Douglas has offered to do dictation, but I really do have to draw the line at annexing the Sudetenland...

Anyways, saw Jersey Girl last night. Truly excellent. Go see, if only for a 7 year old's rendition of an excerpt from "Sweeney Todd"...!

More later, probably when I get back the other side of the pond...

YAY!!!

I got the upgrade to Business Class... I gave the coupon to the desk agent at Frankfurt, thinking that the flight was full - no chance. He taps away at his keyboard; passes me a new boarding card, and my jaw drops to the floor. I walked into the gate area with a very silly grin on my face.

So, I got - a chair that you need an engineering degree to use; a tablecloth when my meal was served, real crockery and cutlery, and a goody bag.

Boy, was I insufferable when Douglas met me! ;-{)}

After much running around the UK with Douglas, here I am alone again, albeit in Tucson AZ. Kind of wierd not having someone else in the bed. Anyway, rewind to Tuesday...

It took a superhuman effort to finally get out of the house to get on the train to get to the hotel at Gatwick Airport. Eventually, we hauled our furry little butts away from the coast and, for one of us, a reluctant journey home. It was a restless night for me, finally giving up on the concept of sleep around 03:30 GMT - ick!!! We got to the airport at 08:00 and got checked in - guess who got pulled over for a random baggage search! Flight to DFW was on time; no problems, apart from the fact that I tried to doze off on the plane, but couldn't as I had forgotten my eyeshades. Arrived DFW around 14:00 CST - no probs with Immigration and Customs. And made fond farewells as our planes were about 5 gates and 10 minutes apart.

Flight to Tucson a little turbulent, but was greeted by Steve (aka BrobearAZ) and a surprise attack by [livejournal.com profile] lostncove, along with a much appreciated Christmas card! I'm not even going to count how many hours I'd been awake by this poiint.

Stopped by La Casa de los Osos Locos thence the hotel where I re-humanised in the shower and met up again with Steve, Randy and Kevin ([livejournal.com profile] sonoranbear) and headed off to Bear Coffee at the Rainbow Coffee House (mmm... bears; mmmm... COFFEE!!!) And pizza. Wackys and Koalas love pizza. Finally, at a party at a party, I started to flag.

Unfortunately, the sleep thing still isn't happening for me; I think I only got about 4 - 5 hours sleep - I think there's going to be some serious snoozing this afternoon.

The whirlwind (or, in view of the weather off the South Wales coast yesterday, tornado) tour of the west is over; taking in Bradford-on-Avon (with much looking over shoulders in case of approaching Aged Parental Units), Bath, Wells and Cardiff. And many cathedrals, abbeys and castles were encountered on the way. Much more of this, I suspect, in [livejournal.com profile] longhairelric's livejournal...

And on to tomorrow - packing of bags, heading to airport hotel ready for 10.15am flight on Wednesday.

Weather Warning - Possibility of soggy bears in the Dallas Fort Worth area...!

Amazing...

...how when I'm feeling really pissed off because Tesco screwed up my home delivery order this evening, all it takes is an enthusiastic bear back from a day in Canterbury to cheer me up...

Spent New Year with the two bears I care about the mostest in the whole wide world!

Happy New Year everybody!
hantsbear: (South Park)
Briefly : Xmas Eve - Dear Beloved Aged Parent picks me up around lunchtime and we drive to Southampton Airport for the flight to Guernsey; lunch was pepperoni pizza - how festive. 35 minute flight uneventful; arrived at the hotel and my gaydar pinged off the scale on being introduced to the co-owner of the hotel - camp is not the word. Alas, somewhat in the Old Queen league, and therefore dismissed as being of no intrinsic value...! The hotel was mainly filled with retired gentlefolk, with which much polite conversation was made, while my teeth ground. Food was excellent; plenty of it too. Alas, sleep was a precious commodity; Dear Beloved Aged Parent snores if not worse than me, certainly on a par.

Xmas Day - Went for a walk, and then a drive around the island. Christmas lunch; pretty traditional. Snoozed most of the afternoon then watched some movie or other - I forget what. Light buffet supper. Bog all sleep again.

Boxing Day - Walk. Drive round Island. Eat. Drive into town. Eat. Try to sleep. Trying not to commit patricide.

Got up early on the Saturday to catch the flight back to Southampton, then Dear Beloved Aged Parent drove me to Karen and Keith's in Crawley. As he drove off, gave huge sigh of relief. Nothing against the old bugger, but he was trying to be too jolly to one of the waitresses, which started to wear a bit thin. Much as the hotel was nice; food was excellent... if I do anything like that again, I think I will try and stick out for separate rooms.

And onto today. Woke up around 7am, and looked on CEEFAX for Douglas's flight.

"0950 Dallas Fort W AA 78 Expected 1254"

Groan. Roll over. Hung around at Karen and Keith's until around 12-ish then struck out for the airport. As I arrived around 1240, the plane landed, so I hung around until the flight status changed to In Customs Hall. Pottered up to an internet kiosk to get rid of spurious e-mail, and had just finished as a somewhat dis-shevelled Douglas staggered towards me muttering things about nicotine, caffeine and his general loathing of Texas and American Airlines. So, replete with the above, we got on a grotty conveyance and ended up back home.

Thus endeth the festive season...

I'm off now until Sunday, when I should return with a [livejournal.com profile] longhairelric in tow, so until then...

Season's Greetings!
Happy Holidays!

God Jul!

I didn't hear you leave
I wonder how am I still here
I don't want to move a thing
It might change my memory
Oh I am what I am
I'll do what I want
But I can't hide
I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me
I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here with me

I don't want to call my friends
They might wake me from this dream
And I can't leave this bed
Risk forgetting all that's been
Oh I am what I am
I'll do what I want
But I can't hide
I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me
I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here with me

The heatwave continues; it managed to get over 90°F in my little computer room yesterday. And as for last night, well, sleep was at a premium (and nothing to do with [livejournal.com profile] progbear's posting on "Little Marcy"!) I seem to be spending a lot of time in a state Douglas would describe as "self-basting".

Oh well, so much for doing too much stuff today... looks like I'm going to spend most of it asleep...
hantsbear: (titanic)
Somehow, I've managed to get my butt in gear today and make a start on sorting out all the detritus in my bedroom. The stange thing is, every time I empty out an old suitcase or travel bag, a number of Tri-Met/MAX tickets fall out...
Someone trying to tell me something?
hantsbear: (Default)
Spent yesterday with Russ in London; trying to sort each other out. We went to Madame Tussauds and the V&A, and lunched in Covent Garden, drinking Pimms and Lemonade, don't y'know! I was trying to persuade him to take a holiday; he'd been talking about San Francisco, but had managed to talk himself out of it. I worked on him a little longer (yes, Douglas, I did suggest he took a detour to Portland... ;-{))} ). We shall see...

We adjourned to the King's Arms and were both approached by a young bear who seemed to know Russ, and proceeded to ask some quite direct questions. Russ was getting a little growl-y so we moved outside, only to be followed a few minutes later. Eventually, we made our excuses and I headed back to Gosport.

Today was hellish; it really dragged. The only saving grace was I had a perfectly civilised conversation with (name deleted) about the history of the British Isles. Otherwise, there was bugger all to do.

Finally managed to get to see physician to get a referral to a consultant psychiatrist. Watch this space...
