hantsbear: (Where Are We Going?)
...that is to say in between Christmas and New Year, finishing off the leftovers from the Christmas feast and doing very little.  Christmas Day itself was spent with my oldest friends (apart from someone I knew at school I still keep in touch with) laughing, eating and drinking.  Which is as it should be.  Met up with [livejournal.com profile] curlycub  yesterday in Brighton and looking forward to meeting [livejournal.com profile] lthrbear in London tomorrow.  In someways I am not trying to think about the new year; lot of organising still needs to be done - need to talk to [livejournal.com profile] madamemish about borrowing the services of her husband for a day to move out; urf.  It's still a little scary, but I know it will be OK once I settle...

Spent the weekend with [profile] curlycub and went to see a production of "The Evil of the Daleks" at the New Theatre Royal over in Portsmouth.  The production was excellent; there was a lot of work in the set - the only complaint was that the actress playing Victoria was possibly not as strong as the rest of the cast.  Spent the rest of the weekend watching DVDs, cooking, eating and drinking...

hantsbear: (Cute Little Space Cadet!)

Off to Brighton today to meet up with David the (not so) [profile] curlycub.  In place of the wild, almost Colin Baker-esque curls, he has trimmed his hair back to something less wild.  And, in some photos, more harder looking...

Before...

After...

Anyroad, we took coffee at leisure - I wanted to go to a place called "Wai Kika Moo Kau".  Or something like that (I can hear the screams of protest from [livejournal.com profile] gotmoof as I write!) Wandered around the Lanes a bit, looking at koalas that I couldn't afford, or at least not until I win the lottery.  Lunch at Momma Cherri's Soul Food Shack - suuthern frahd chickun and jambalayuh.  Then, lying on the beach and creating wierd situations.  This continued in the pub and degenerated still further as alcohol was added to the equation.  Anyway, left around five as David was off to the cinema with his significant other.  Got back to Portsmouth about half six and picked up some nice lemon-y drizzle-y Bundt cake from the station cafe.  An exception to the British Rail food jokes of old.

My luncheon companion from yesterday, being attacked by the shrubbery in the restaurant.

Any resemblance to a young Colin Baker is entirely co-incidental.
