Lord President Blair has decreed that the 5th. of May will be the date of the General Election (fixed grin, sweaty armpits, don't-blame-me-for-Iraq hand gestures...)

My predection? Blair and the Labour Party will get back into power, but with a much reduced majority; suspect the Liberal Democrats may well gain at Labour's expense... anything other than 4 to 5 years of the Conservative Party slashing left, right and centre. Some of us haven't forgotten Clause 28, you know...

Clause 28?

A particularly homophobic piece of legislation introduced under the last Conservative administration (i.e. Mrs. Thatcher) which pevented local authorities from promoting homosexuality in any form, including mentioning it in schools. This legislation has only just been repealed by the current administration.

At last a General Election!!!!

Alas, would it were that simple. I can remember when, under the last Conservative administration interest rates of 15% plus for mortgages and homes reposessed left, right and centre. Besides which, had the Conservatives been in power, they would have gone into Iraq a lot quicker.
