So, to make sure that I do use up my vacation time for 2007/2008, I have booked off the last 2 weeks of November.  I have absoultely no idea what I am going to do with them as it is entirely in the lap of the Fates.  I might have money to pay the taxes/surchages to use some of my frequent flyer miles; knowing my luck though it is more than likely that I won't.  But I am damned if I am going to lose valuable vacation time!!!

On other news, my immediate boss has sponsored me to attend a "Meet The Boss" lunch.  I have a horrible feeling that it was a result of some vaguely cynical comment I made, but it is Free Food.  Just so long as The Boss doesn't ask me a crucial question while I have a mouthful of prawn vol-au-vent.

Well, me old sweetheart, if I can get my financial situation a wee bit stable, I'll invite you to this side of the pond, and you can visit the aftermath of our presidential elections. I realize that must sound like the threat of abject mental torture, but in truth, I think you'd find amusement in it. Oh, and you could experience Thanksgiving, a holiday that every Native American calls the Why Didn't We Let Them Die Off When We Had The Chance day.

If you think you'd like the peculiar opportunity, let me know; I'll see what we might be able to cook up (no pun intended) on your behalf. If my situation with Jybian keeps up, you and I will be having the place to ourselves. (That's the part that you should consider to be the threat.) ~_^

There is always the vacation at home. Your day trip distance from so many great places, places many of us would love to be able to visit.

What in the UK, have you wanted to see but haven't? What about when you were a kid, places that might be worth revisiting?

I mean, what about a tour of the stone circles. Walking trips on coast lines? Train pass to other parts of Europe?

For myself I would love to hit museum after museum. Of course the idea of a cuddly koala being mostly naked for 2 weeks..

I have to confess, this was the one option that I was considering if I don't get the cash together for a flight. There is still an awful lot of the UK I haven't seen; a lot of the North West, Northumbria, East Anglia, North Wales, Northern Scotland... but we shall see...
