Something isn't quite right...

Went to the Kings Arms (a London bear venue) last night for a meeting of the bear group to which I belong. Sat with Mo and Adam most of the evening. Tony, the club president, turned up and I noticed he'd lost an awful lot of weight (4 stones, as I found out later) and he seemed disorientated; tired. Which isn't the live wire of old, constantly growling and fondling anything hairy. In conversation, it turned out he's on some major league opiate painkillers (seriously major league!) Hence the disorientation etc. He was still as affectionate as always, but I ended up telling him to sit down because he was wilting on his feet. His partner, Stacey, seemed stoically world-weary as usual. He always seems to shrug things off, but he's definitely put on a few stone himself this last year or so.
I can't help worrying - maybe it's just my "worst case scenario" attitude, but things don't seem quite right...
