Explosions In London; Thoughts...

So, a day after the announcement of London receiving the vote of the IOC to host the 2012 games, terrorist explosions rock the city. The city is, as I understand it, paralysed. As yet (12:25 BST) nobody seems to have claimed responsibility; but I think fingers are being pointed towards Al Q'aeda. Lord President Blair has broadcasted to the nation; stern eyebrows, sweaty armpits, clenched buttocks.

What to think? I can't be anything other than numb at the moment; it's just another classic example of Man's inhumanity towards Man (or at least Man who does not worship same God as other Man). Sabre rattling and "My God is more omnipotent than your God".

I've just heard there's been a bomb alert at Portsmouth Harbour station; the whole of the harbour has been closed off... This is starting to get just a wee bit too close to home.

Humans. Grrr.

most of the people who work for us come here through those stations.
we have people unaccounted for.we emplOy a lot of casual people.
two were at Liverpool Street when the bomb went off but are fine. one was stuck in a train but is now out and getting home with the help of a lift on a police bus.
we are also taking calls from family members etc and it is not pleasant telling them the person has not arrived or called in.
LET'S HOPE IT IS A ONE OFF.

OK, OK. I'm being paranoid. How are you? How is Russ? What about Mo? I know he lives very close to Liverpool St. Station (which, incidentally, was the fictional target in the HBO/BBC program 'Dirty Bomb'). Seriously, I do worry, and my deepest, sincerest condolences go out to those killed and injured and their families.

My reaction, however, is one of 'London is OFF Limits, assholes!'. I'm pretty angry about the whole affair. London is a beautiful city and the UK a wonderful country. I really appreciate you taking the opportunity to show it to me.
