Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow...

And so the great adventure to Utah begins.  Rose at the ungodly hour of 05:30 to rouse the sleeping form of rock_bear on the sofa to head off to Gatwick Airport.  Bus.  Ferry.  Train.  Pretty uneventful.  Got in the NWA check-in line, and was pulled out of the queue for a random baggage search on the promise of jumping the queue.  It would have been churlish to refuse.  Then, there were issues with the reservation, which the idiots at ebookers.com originally booked in the name of BRITTIAN; I had written to change it to BRITTAIN, but now for some reason exists on the system as BRITTAN.  Grr.  So anyway, took Russ for his birthday breakfast, then fond farewells at Departures.  Flight to Minneapolis was smooth until landing where the weather conditions were pretty grim.  Got through Customs and Immigration ok; checked bag through to Salt Lake City, then headed out to a pre-arranged coffee date with Andie (benpanced ).  To catch up on about about four years worth of 'stuff'.

Much to my surprise, the flight to Salt Lake City was only about an hour late leaving, but we probably spent extra time getting on to the runway and getting de-iced.  Eventually arrived Salt Lake City about half eight, to an enthusiastic welcome from Clifford utahmtnbear.  And so have spent most of last night and this morning re-kindling a friendship, so to speak.  And dealing with a leg cramp that had me shouting the house down.
