Urf. Finally had it confirmed today - the laptop is beyond viable repair, so I have to somehow schedule a trip down to the South Coast to raid my store lockers. I suspect I will try and get the full PC out and use that, but I've got to find it first. There are a hell of a lot of boxes in those store rooms, including 3 boxes full of koalas!!!

It's a generic Novatech model; built in sunny Portsmouth.

It's just that I'd much rather bung you a few quid than these shyster laptop repair droids.
