The Bears Are Back In Town...
Aug. 30th, 2004 08:26 amAnd so, to London for a weekend in the smoke with rock_bear . Spent Friday at the Kings Arms, the main bear bar in London for those who didn't know. Seemed a little sparcely populated, but apparently there was a bash on at one of the clubs that evening. Chinese food afterwards, then back to the hotel.
Saturday, wandering about with Russ - went up to The Angel to wander round the antiques market and found a fab little shop filled with seventies toys - the sort of stuff we grew up with. Headed off to the Museum of London, then Borough Market for lunch. Found a very industrial little rubber shop in a railway arch, then back into the city to meet up with Mo at the Kings Arms. One particular bear seemed absolutely fascinated by the way I swished my hair. We headed off to a Pizza Express for dinner, then Russ and I went back to the hotel to change.
We headed off to XXL, arriving about 10:30 pm. The bear with the hair fetish was there, although I think he may have been a little disappointed by the fact that I had tied my hair back. Got talking to a bear from Minneapolis (who has met benpanced - small world!) and ended up in the dark room with him. Much to Russ's pride - "I saw a long haired man in the dark room just then with his trousers around his ankles, and it wasn't me!!" I hate to say it, but as usual, I bowed out around 01:30 am - I think Russ got back about 04:30.
Sunday - Mainly spent wandering around Camden Market - we found a jacket that we both liked, so bought it as a share. And Russ found a suede, fringed jacket that he proudly wore for the rest of the day.
And now it's Monday and a Bank Holiday off work. Back home as there are two girls on the desk today as the desk doesn't close today. Not a Bank Holiday in Scotland...
