In Sverige...
May. 31st, 2004 02:43 pmI think my swedish is improving - now instead of looking blank and saying "Talar ni engelska?" I am at least saying "Förlåt - jag kan lilla svensk talar - jag år engelsk!". And looking blank. (Translation - Sorry - I can only speak a little Swedish - I am English - although I think I may have missed out the "only" - little help, quirkypandacub?)
Anyways, I filled my belly up with köttbullar on Friday night at a rather nice bar that had a rather nice bear behind the counter. Alas, hair is now short and the beard is gone, but he still has that certain viking-ishness about him. Cute longhaired chef still there though.
Of course, I spent Sunday morning watching the Björnar in Skansen. There were three cubs playing in the water, and two others in the main enclosure. Along with five foxes, for some reason. Took the ferry across the harbour back to the old town and wandered; then a "little" shopping at Åhlens, the big department store at Sergels Torg.
Much drinking of coffee and eating of Apple cake with vanilla sauce; the usual sort of thing. And an awful lot of woofing.
And now sitting at an internet kiosk at Arlanda Airport, getting ready for the flight back home via Charles de Gaulle. (Bit of a long way round, but I arrive back at Southampton Airport, not dear old Heathrow.)
Agenda for this week? Got to go to the funeral of a friend's mother on Wednesday. Otherwise, dealing with things as and when they occur...
