I agree totally with you that the best of things generally happen unexpectedly. Many times I've thought of going for the chop too, especially when I get crap all too often from people and in places that you wouldn't expect it. But then I also have a dread of being mistaken for an impendingly middle-aged emo-twinkie type :P Ugh!? So, no Vidal Sasoon haircut for me, I'm sufficiently happy with who I am now :) I do think that there's a kind of 'barrier' if you go to places where people conform to a particular look, like there's a tendency to think that people are or should only be interested in carbon copies of themselves. I have had more than one unpleasant confrontataions due to that, and it's just backward and infantile. Then, randomly and out of the blue, I'd get the complete opposite when expecting yet another stupid comment. Um, I'm not too sure what the point I was trying to put across was now, other than chin up and all that. I've only spoken to you IRL a few times (a few years ago now), and I'm kinda introverted, but you're a good bloke. I'm sure you'll meet someone as equally good :)
