Brighton Pride (In The Name Of Love...)
Aug. 6th, 2006 08:40 amMy houseguest for the weekend called a rain check on Friday night, but I had kind of guessed that he would not be coming as I hadn't heard his arrival plans earlier in the week. So I had already made my back up plan to go to Brighton Pride. For those who do not know, Brighton is a city beside the sea on the South Coast, about an hour and a half train journey from Portsmouth. It has also, to the best of my knowledge, given it's name to at least two suburbs of US cities. Anyway Brighton has, I believe, the highest concentration of gay population outside of London. The event has become so popular that, as I understand it, extra trains were laid on from London to cope. I rang
rock_bear because I was Under Instructions Upon Penalty Of Fierce Eyebrows to call him in the morning. "Go on the parade" growled a familiar ginger-furred voice. But I wanted to go round the stalls before the masses got there. I was hoping to finally meet up with
holy13nation but unfortunately Paul, his partner, had had his plaster cast removed the day previously and was suffering somewhat badly. Oh well, there will be another occasion.
This morning, I am suffering the after effects - mainly sunburn on my shoulders. Punishment, no doubt, for not being a sun worshipper...
