Weekend of Contrasts...

Got up to Nottingham Friday night to comfort
rock_bear and go out to Spiders for an evening of fur and music (and making back comments about Russ's porn film with the gorgeous Joe the DJ!) Saturday, off up to the Great British Bear Bash up in Manchester with a couple of friends of Russ's and a rather emotional Scotsman who ended up returning home early on the coach, much to everyone's relief. Much fur abounding, including bumping into Jim from London, who I only ever seem to meet at Fiesta de los Osos in Tucson...! A cute young fuzzball squeezed past at one point and responded well to a little tummy rubbing. So I kept bumping into young Warren during the weekend...!
Sunday, Bear Brunch, which caused a little gumbling amongst the troops, as there didn't seem to be much choice, especially for vegetarians. Met up with a group of older bears from Scotland, including one called Doug - covered in piercings and tattoos, including a whole arm dedicated to the Titanic. And such a sweetheart too. And then, later in the afternoon, we headed off to the Outpost, one of the bars involved in the Bash. I noticed a rather cute longhair as we entered the bar, and woofed, which Doug picked up on and propelled me in the direction of said longhair, making appropriate introductions. Young Davey (or ladfordad as he's known on eurowoof) proved to be an engaging partner, as a session in one of the darkrooms proved. And it turns out he's a writer, partly for preschool kid's TV programmes. Hmmm, I can imagine the conversation now...
Hantsbear : Eloise, what's that you're watching?
Eloise (niece) : It's (insert name of preschool kids TV programme here)
Hantsbear : That's nice dear; One of the writers gave me a blow-job once...
And then, later on in the evening, I was sat in the Outpost with Davey, and who should walk in but
darklogic_xl5. All in all, Sunday was pretty cool, apart from the journey back to Nottingham, where the driver and his partner had had some form of tiff and there was an atmosphere you could slice with a knife.
Monday - spent helping Russ move some stuff over to the ever elegant Missmish's house. I have to confess; Missmish is the doyenne of being immaculate, but I have to confess - would my illusions be shattered by being granted an audience at 9.30 in the morning? Fear not, gentle reader, even at that hour on a bank holiday morning, appearance was faultless...! Spent the rest of the day talking with Russ on current events; I'm not going to go into detail here - I'll leave that to Russ, if he should so desire.
And so back to Gosport, and two days of work before heading off to Alabama...
