Video Killed The Radio Star...?

Well,

madamemish's and my erstwhile radio broadcast went out over Nottingham last night. I'm not sure what the listening figures were, but I have a suspicion it was probably about 3 and one westie. But I don't care. If only for the fact that an excerpt from Kristina från Duvemåla was in the airwaves briefly over Nottingham.

And, if I say so myself, the whole programme sounded damn good. So there.

And So (again)...

...the reason why I took a sickie today and ended up in a recording studio in London. I had a phone call from my agent as I was getting off the bus on Wednesday about a client that wanted me for a test today.

Eeek. I fudged slightly and said I'd give her a call the following day if I could organise more time off work, being as I had already been out for a day and a half.

Later, I received a text stating the fee. Then it became a no-brainer. It's only a test, but if the ad gets used, it will earn me fees. And

curlycub will finally have his revenge.

Alas...

The filming was not to be - the camera broke before it was my turn. But I got paid my expenses and an assurance that I'd be considered for future work with the company. Cynical me says "yeah, right..."

So I headed down to the Kings Arms for a while...

Improvisation...

Right now, I should be filling boxes ready for The Big Move. Okay, I've filled one or two, but my heart isn't in it this morning. Maybe once I've sorted out storage space, I might have more impetus.

Anyway, yesterday I went to a workshop organised by one of the extras agencies I've signed up with. Basically, it involved being split into groups of five people and improvising a situation specified by the organisers - we had to move around the room and perform different pieces every 20 minutes or so. Naturally, I gravitated towards the group with the one other cute furry individual. We started off with a "breaking bad news scenario", followed by a reunion scenario then a "trapped on a tube train" scenario. Of course, I played the freak out part in that last scenario; grabbing my knees, rocking from side to side and rambling incoherently. Apparently, it's what I do best...

So, I made my demo CD today; an interesting experience - the scripts that I found easy to rehearse took longer than the harder ones...! Oh well, once it's all edited, I should have it by the time I get back home from Fiesta...

Luvvies and Dahlings...

Nine o'clock this morning found me in a casting studio in the West End of London. I signed up with an extras agency and they offered me the chance to make a showreel. So, I turned up, looked pretty for the camera, changed my shirt and had some photos taken. And now we wait and see what happens...

Whine-y Bitch Mode...

Yeah, life isn't sunshine and roses at the moment. I went to the doc's this morning and was signed off work again for a week, and a wad of prescriptions to be filled. I still daren't move too far away from the nearest lavatory, and my mood swings from crappy to sickly-cheerful to Eeyore-gloomy. I still haven't come to a decision on my escape plan - possibly because I don't want to be criticised for doing something in haste. There are some possible bright spots if I can get my a*se off the toilet seat... which remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, I'm going to complete my application to join "The Joan Crawford School of Eyebrow Method Acting" (Principal :
