Kvetch of the Day...

Spent yesterday ushering at the New Theatre Royal's production of "The Firebird" - not the ballet, but an alternative to pantomime performed by a company of 6 (including one very cute wolf) based on the Russian folk tale.  If you're in the area (wait... most of my friend list is based in the USA - none of 'em are just going to "drop in" at a moment's notice...!) it's well worth seeing; simply produced with no set changes and a folk/cajun music score.

Anyways, went into the nearest Subway, and was disappointed; no choice of bread.  Just white, white or white.  I'm sure the Subway's I've been to in the US have had a choice of bread... oh well, just have to hope Quizno's opens down here soon - they already have them in Birmingham...

We should all surprise you once.... :-) The show sounds pretty cool between the score and the cast.

Sorry to hear about your Subway. I thought having lots of kinds of bread was one of their marketing points.

Yeah, a few years back they started offering different breads at US Subways. They've even got sourdough here in the bay area. I don't remember seeing it back east, but they may have started it nationwide.

you never get sourdough here, I've seen it occasionally in Belfast
