Dear Karma...

I would dearly love to know what I have done in my life that is so heinously awful that my life of late has become a crock of shit.  Not content with being made redundant (admittedly the blow was softened for a while by the pay-out, but that's nearly gone), I have been unemployed for 8 months now; only three job interviews in that time despite my fevered efforts at sending out CV's and completing application forms.  I have no money coming in from the DWP; my house sale made less than I planned, and now I'm looking at an extremely bleak future as I have no reserve behind me to put down a deposit on a rented flat.

Are you satisfied with that or is there worse to come?

I've been unemployed for over 6 months for two times in my life, I had my Dad to rely on, but I can remember a little of how devastating to my psyche it was.

Upside is, when things do change (and they do) it changes so fast you won't believe. Hang in there, try different approaches / things rather than hitting your head against a wall, one *will* pay off.
